Kind Feyzo (Kibar Feyzo) (translated)

Kibar Feyzo is a 1978 Turkish comedy film. Directed by Atıf Yılmaz, written by İhsan Yüce, and produced by Arzu Film, it is based on the story "Rats" from Osman Şahin's book Kırmızı Yel (Red Wind). Approaching the feudal system through dark humor, the film focuses on class conflict, thus maintaining a social realist approach and is considered a cult classic of Turkish cinema.

The story tells of Feyzo, who wants to marry the woman he loves in his village. After completing his military service and returning to his village, Feyzo tries to save up the bride price to marry Gülo; however, this endeavor turns into a competition, so he leaves the village and goes to Istanbul to work. Having encountered a different life in the city and having his eyes opened, Feyzo returns to his village and finds himself in a class conflict with Maho, the village headman, and forms a front against the system of feudalism.

Kemal Sunal plays Feyzo and Şener Şen plays Maho Ağa in the lead roles. The cast also includes Müjde Ar, Adile Naşit, İhsan Yüce, İlyas Salman, and Erdal Özyağcılar. Due to its satire on the class struggles and political climate of the time, the film faced a screening ban for many years.
