Tel Aviv on Fire

Tel Aviv on Fire is a 2018 satirical comedy-drama directed by Sameh Zoabi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Dan Kleinman. An Israel–Luxembourg–France co-production shot in Arabic and Hebrew, it is Zoabi's second feature after Man Without a Cell Phone. The film had its international premiere in the Orizzonti section of the 75th Venice International Film Festival, where Kais Nashef won Best Actor. Its Israeli premiere followed at the Haifa International Film Festival, where it took the awards for Best Film and Best Screenplay.

Set against the backdrop of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, the story offers a playful parody of the soap opera while portraying people caught between private dreams, everyday pragmatism and exhaustion. The film was selected as Luxembourg's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, though it was not nominated. The cast includes Kais Nashef, Lubna Azabal and Maisa Abd Elhadi.
