Murat of Tophane (Tophaneli Murat) (translated)

Tophaneli Murat is a 1972 Turkish adventure film shot in color, co-directed by Çetin İnanç and Sırrı Gültekin from a screenplay İnanç wrote together with Nuri Kırgeç. Produced by Mehmet Karahafız and Hasan Çakır as a joint production of Osmanlı Film, Dirlik Film and Lamek Film, it was released theatrically on 1 September 1973, with cinematography shared by Sertaç Karan and Özdemir Öğüt.

Kadir İnanır stars in the title role of Murat, alongside Piraye Uzun, Turgut Özatay, Erden Alkan, Muazzez Kurdoğlu, Yeşim Yükselen, Nuri Kırgeç, Türker Tekin, Adnan Mersinli and Yılmaz Gruda. In line with the era's common practice, the actors were voiced by dubbing artists: İnanır was dubbed by Abdurrahman Palay and Özatay by Pekcan Koşar.
