A Long Story (Uzun Hikaye)

Uzun Hikâye (A Long Story) is a Turkish drama film directed and produced by Osman Sınav, released on October 12, 2012. Adapted by Yiğit Güralp from Mustafa Kutlu's novella of the same name, the project went through an eleven-year development phase marked by repeated rewrites of the screenplay and the budget constraints typical of period films, before shooting began in March 2012 and wrapped in eight weeks.

The film follows Ali, who was orphaned as a child and emigrated from Bulgaria with his wrestler grandfather Süleyman to settle in Eyüp, Istanbul, tracing his journey from the 1940s to the late 1970s. When Münire's family refuses to let him marry her, Ali elopes with his beloved, yet his passion for equality and justice gets him driven out of every town, so he wanders along the railways with his wife and son Mustafa. Kenan İmirzalıoğlu and Tuğçe Kazaz lead the cast, supported by veteran actors such as Altan Erkekli, Güven Kıraç, Zafer Algöz and Cihat Tamer.
