The Great Exile: Caucasus (Büyük Sürgün Kafkasya) (translated)

The Great Exile: Caucasus is a four-part Turkish historical drama mini-series produced by 314 Film Yapım and broadcast on TRT 1. Filmed in Macedonia, it ran from 15 December 2015 to 5 January 2016.

Set in 1944, during the Second World War, the story follows the Meskhetian (Ahiska) Turks, who were torn from their homeland and deported on Stalin's orders. The series portrays the suffering of thousands of people forced to abandon the lands they lived on, left to fend for themselves, and the tragedy of a largely forgotten people. The screenplay draws on two novels: Fırat Sunel's In the Shadow of the Weeping Willows and Gürsel Balcı's The Secret on the Border.

The cast features Tolga Sarıtaş, Elif Atakan, Nilüfer Açıkalın, Ertan Saban, Melis Birkan and Luran Ahmeti.
