Night Queen (Gecenin Kraliçesi)

Gecenin Kraliçesi (Night Queen) is a Turkish romantic drama series produced by O3 Medya. It premiered on Star TV in January 2016 and wrapped up in April of the same year, ending with its fifteenth episode. Its title draws on the night queen flower, which blooms for a single night and wilts by morning.

The story revolves around Kartal, an orphan brought up by Aziz, the very man who killed his father. Married off to Aziz's daughter Esra, Kartal meets Selin during a business trip to France and falls in love with her. Their relationship, however, meets fierce resistance from his wife and the family that raised him, forcing Kartal to renounce the woman he loves in order to keep her safe. Selin's return years later drags long-buried secrets and a desire for revenge back to the surface. Part of the narrative unfolds in Grasse, the French town famed for its perfume industry.

Meryem Uzerli and Murat Yıldırım head the cast, supported by performers such as Uğur Polat, Mehmet Aslantuğ, Selim Bayraktar, Burak Deniz, Funda Eryiğit and Deniz Celiloğlu. The show failed to achieve commercial success and drew negative critical notices, which led to its early cancellation.
