Köroğlu is a 1945 Turkish black-and-white film adapted from the work of Nizamettin Nazif Tepedelenlioğlu. Directed by Mümtaz Ener and Refik Kemal Arduman from a screenplay by Muharrem Gürses, the film was produced by Necip Erses, with cinematography by Baha Gelenbevi, Cezmi Ar and Menasi Filmeridis and music by Muhittin Sadak, Mustafa Çağlar and Sadi Işılay. The cast features Mümtaz Ener, Gülistan Güzey, Hulusi Kentmen and Muammer Karaca.

The story centers on the cruel Bey of Bolu, a passionate lover of fine horses. His groom Yusuf presents him with a humble-looking grey horse, but the Bey, convinced that the man is mocking him, has his eyes blinded as punishment. Yusuf's son, the saz-playing folk singer Ruşen Ali, then takes the name Köroğlu and declares war on the Bey. He gathers like-minded men into a band, sides with the oppressed people and rides the grey horse on his quest for revenge, while the Bey sets out to capture both Köroğlu and the horse.
