Relentless Road (Amansız Yol) (translated)

Amansız Yol (Relentless Road) is a 1985 Turkish drama directed by Ömer Kavur, who co-wrote the screenplay with Barış Pirhasan. Structured as a road movie built around a truck journey from Istanbul to Mardin, it stars Kadir İnanır and Zuhal Olcay. Kavur stated that he drew inspiration from the cinema of Wim Wenders while making the film.

The story begins when Hasan, a truck driver who has spent many years in Germany, returns to Istanbul. He discovers that his former love Sabahat has married his childhood friend Yavuz and has a daughter. When criminals come after Yavuz over his shady dealings, Hasan takes Sabahat and little Ayşe on the road in his truck, and the pursuit continues along the way. The film was chosen as one of the three best Turkish films at the 1986 International Istanbul Film Days, while Zuhal Olcay won Best Actress at the 1985 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
