Knife Edge (Bıçak Sırtı) (translated)
Bıçak Sırtı is a Turkish television drama produced by TMC and broadcast on Kanal D during the 2007-2008 season. The first episode aired on 10 September 2007; although it had been planned as a single-season show, it ended with its thirtieth episode on 28 April 2008.
The leading roles were shared by Nejat İşler, Melisa Sözen, Fikret Kuşkan, Vildan Atasever, Mehmet Günsür, Mahir Günşıray and Erkan Can, with a wider cast including Ayça Bingöl, Canan Ergüder, İpek Bilgin, Nihal Koldaş, Özlem Conker, Atılgan Gümüş, Fatma Toptaş, Gamze Karaduman and the child actor Batuhan Karacakaya. The series drew considerable praise in the press as it went on, and Melisa Sözen won Best Actress in a Television Series at the 3rd İsmail Dümbüllü Awards.
Müslüm Gürses's song "Oğlum", used in the opening two episodes, returned to public attention through the show. When rumours spread that the series would be taken off the air, viewers and television columnists protested loudly. Bıçak Sırtı also travelled abroad: dubbed into Syrian-dialect Arabic, it was shown on MBC 4 from 2009 as "حد السكين", and it reached Bulgarian audiences under the title "Златната клетка".
