Love No More (Aşka Tövbe)

Aşka Tövbe (also known as Love No More) is a 1968 Turkish drama produced and directed by Türker İnanoğlu, with a screenplay by Fuat Özlüer. Shot in color and running 83 minutes, the Erler Film production features music by Metin Bükey and cinematography by Çetin Gürtop. It is the second Yeşilçam adaptation of Kerime Nadir's novel of the same name, first published in 1944.

Şehbal, a young teacher who has spent three years working in İzmir, travels to İstanbul after receiving an inviting letter from Mübin, the man she has quietly loved for years. Expecting a marriage proposal, she is devastated to learn that Mübin is in fact in love with his cousin Nazan — and wants Şehbal to plead his case. When Nazan, already promised to another man, marries, Mübin sinks into drink and gambling, and Şehbal, after trying to console him, returns to İzmir.

There, just as she is weighing a proposal from Selman, the diplomat brother of her school principal Osman Hoca, Mübin reappears and the two become engaged. But a chance encounter in Uludağ with the unhappily married Nazan reignites old jealousies, and Şehbal breaks off the engagement. In an ending that departs from the novel, Selman stops Mübin as he is about to board a train, declaring he has no right to keep two people who love each other apart, and reunites the couple.

Filiz Akın and Kartal Tibet star as Şehbal and Mübin, supported by Semiramis Pekkan, Önder Somer, Nubar Terziyan, Şaziye Moral and Funda Postacı. Following the Yeşilçam dubbing custom of the era, Akın was voiced by Adalet Cimcoz and Tibet by Abdurrahman Palay.
